Where did your bread begin?

I started by asking a simple question about bread.
It led me backwards — from the loaf, to the flour, to the mill, to the grain, to the farmer and the soil.

Following the grain led me to three ancient working watermills within half an hour of me. All of them grinding grain. Two producing world class stoneground flour for sourdough bread baking!

I'm still following it...
